This workshop follows on from the previous series of successful workshops held by the Section since 2010 and is open to and aimed at individuals involved with signalling maintenance in the minor railways sector. It is being run with the kind sponsorship of Signet Solutions and Green Dragon Rail.
The two days will cover a wide range of subjects of interest to both newcomers and the more experienced. We regret that, due to the limited number of places available, only applications from individuals currently working on minor railways will be accepted.
Saturday: Following arrival at 09:30 for registration and refreshments, the first day will include theory sessions on basic law and its requirements, incidents and accidents and their affects, the importance of keeping good and clear records, ownership and responsibility. Practical sessions follow on the maintenance of mechanical & power operated points and the installation operation & testing of mechanical signals. The first day finishes with a review and feedback session.
Sunday The session starts with an overview of track circuits, dc track circuit operation and track circuit testing, maintenance and adjustment. This will be followed by sessions on signalling diagrams and records, monitoring, reporting, recording, and risk mitigation. The day ends with a review and feedback session and the award of certificates.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, this technical workshop will cost just £95 per person and will be limited to no more than 12 places. Lunch on both days and the evening meal on the Saturday will be included, also with the generous support of the event sponsors.

All places will be given out on a first come, first served basis. Applications must be accompanied by a BACS payment or cheque to secure a place. We regret that company cheques cannot be accepted.
