IRSE's Midlands & North Western Section's competition winner, Nikhil Swami, will talk on "increasing line capacity with advanced train detection"

"...Indian Railways is undergoing constant transformation and is evolving its signaling systems and solutions. Significant transition is seen in adopting the advanced digital axle counter systems for safe train detection in the region. Among the different Axle Counter applications, Intermediate Block Signalling [IBS], has got its due attention. The ultimate purpose of IBS is to increase the section capacity. This technical presentation will provide details of a similar system planned and implemented in an Indian Railways project..."

Nikhil Swami of Frauscher Sensor Technology India and the winner of the IRSE M&NW Section short papers competition, will give a technical presentation on how Indian Railways are adopting digital Axle Counter technology to increase capacity.
