Minor Railways Section AGM 2022 and summer technical visit

You are invited to join the IRSE Minor Railways Section for their AGM 2022 and summer technical visit

With the kind permission of the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway Limited, the Minor Railways Section 2022 AGM will be held at Hythe RH&DR station followed by an optional technical visit to New Romney and Romney Sands. The AGM and technical visit are open to members and non-members and is aimed at individuals involved with signalling and telecommunications design, installation and maintenance in the minor railway sector or those who have a general interest in these subjects.

The planned schedule for the day is as follows:
Registration for the AGM will commence at 10:45 in Hythe Hall which is located adjacent to the RH&DR station at Hythe, where coffee & tea will be served.
The AGM will commence at 11:15 and will be followed by a briefing for the visit and presentations on the recent resignalling developments on the RH&DR, and then afterwards by a cold buffet.
It is planned to leave Hythe on the 13:00 train for New Romney where the party will split into two groups,
The one group will visit the S&T installations at New Romney and the second group will stay on the train and travel onward to Romney Sands for a demonstration of the ABCLlevel crossing and the Approach Control signalling system and the newly commissioned DiBloC single line block system.
Groups will then reverse all returning to New Romney for the 16:05 train to Hythe where the visit is planned to end at 16:40.

PPE- please wear Hi-Vis and stout shoes.

The AGM is free to attend, there will be a registration fee of £42 for the buffet lunch, travel and technical visit to the RH&DR.  A separate partner programme can be available if there is sufficient demand. No accommodation is included in this price but a good selection of accommodation is available in the Hythe / Folkestone area.

If you have already paid for a booking for the delayed Dean Forest visit you can use it for this event.

To allow time to notify our hosts the numbers, the booking list must close on 30th May.
