Incorporated Engineer (IEng)
The Incorporated Engineer (IEng) title is open to anyone who can demonstrate the required professional competences and commitment developed through education and working experience. The recognised qualifications laid down by the Engineering Council for IEng registration are:
- An accredited Bachelors or honours degree in engineering or technology
- An accredited HNC or HND in engineering or technology (for programmes started before Sept 1999)
However
- An HNC or HND started after Sept 1999 (but before Sept 2010 in the case of the HNC) or a Foundation Degree in engineering or technology AND appropriate further learning to degree level*
- An NVQ4 or SVQ4 that has been approved for the purpose by a licensed engineering institution AND appropriate further learning to degree level*
*Further Learning can include the completing the Advanced Diploma in Railway Control Engineering (IRSE Professional Exam)
